STEP 1: This week you’ve explored how powerful water can be—how it shapes land, moves with energy, and can even be used as a clean power source. Now it’s time to look for solutions. For this biomimicry challenge, you’ll use the AskNature website to explore how living things manage or move water in smart, sustainable ways—and then use what you find to inspire a new idea or invention.
Start by thinking of a water-related problem you noticed this week. It could be something like too much water (flooding, erosion), not enough water (drought, access), or how we might move or store water better using clean energy.
Go to the AskNature website and search for how plants, animals, or ecosystems solve similar problems. Once you find a strategy you like, use it to design something that could help people or the planet. If you need a reminder of what biomimicry is, feel free to revisit the videos from our first challenge in Unit 1. In your workbook, record:
You can draw your idea, describe it, or include links or pictures. I’m excited to see what you come up with!
