Want to learn more about flying drones safely and responsibly outside of this workshop? The FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) requires recreational drone flyers to pass The Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST). It’s a free online test that provides education and testing on important safety and regulatory information.
- What: The Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST)
- Why: To understand FAA safety guidelines for recreational drone flight in the U.S. National Airspace System.
- How: You can take the test online through various FAA-approved test administrators. One such place is: https://trust.modelaircraft.org/
- When: This is an optional activity to complete on your own time, outside of our workshop sessions.
- Cost: Free!
This is a great way to learn the rules of the sky and fly with confidence if you ever get the chance to pilot a drone yourself!
