The Laparoscopic Surgical Team Roles

1. The Surgeon (The Hands)

  • Task: Uses the long tools inside the box to perform the activity.

  • Focus: Your skilled hands to complete the task

2. The Procedure Manager (The Brain)

  • Task: Keeps track of time, prepares next activity. 5 Minutes per procedure.

  • Focus: Reads the activity steps aloud to the Surgeon. Keeps strict track of time and tells the team when to stop.

3. The Surgical Assistant (The Support)

  • Task: Quality control and materials.

  • Focus: Acts as a second set of eyes on the screen to offer suggestions if the surgeon gets stuck. Helps quickly reset the materials inside the box when the time is up.

 

Rules: 

  • Limit damage
  • Small Openings
  • Clean Procedure
  • Quick, Thorough, Safe
  • No Peaking
  1. Remove All Shapes. Replace All Shapes.

3. Unwrap Candy
