D: Controller for Quadriplegic Individuals

Instructions (Part I): Carefully watch the video below to learn about “Travis,” an individual who was left paralyzed after an accident during his summer vacation.

Instructions (Part II): Travis loves playing racing games like the one you created. He can only move his head and neck. Your task is to use Tinkercad to design and 3D print a Microbit attachment that allows Travis to play the game using only his head and neck movements. For example, you could design something that attaches to his hat or something he holds with his mouth.

Instructions (Part III): Reflect on a possible design for your attachement and create a detailed sketch on a piece of paper.

Instructions (Part IV): Using your drawing as a guide, construct your attachement in Tinkercad.

Instructions (Part V): “Export” your attachment as an “STL” file and share it below. Type your first name in the “Subject” area.

Instructions (Part VI): Once successfully printed, take a short video of your controller attachment in action as if you were Travis playing the game. Type your first name(s) in the “Subject” area. A QR code is provided for ease of upload.
