1. Car Construction

Instructions (Part I): Carefully follow along with each video below. You will build four cars in total.

Extra Challenge: If your team has finished, build a propeller car. These models have been proven to be quite challenging. Below you will find two versions of the build.

Instructions (Part II): Find a flat area where you can measure the velocity of each car. Use a meter stick to mark a 2-meter stretch. Measure the time it takes for each car to travel this distance. Calculate the velocity of each car in meters per second (m/s) by dividing the distance by the time, and record the results in your notebook. Conduct 4 trials for each car. Calculate the average velocity of each car by adding up the total velocities for that car and dividing by 4.

Instructions (Part III): Record a video of your fastest car (largest average velocity in m/s) moving and upload it below. Type your first name in the “Subject” area.  A QR code is provided below for ease of upload.
