6. Challenge #2
Challenge: Use the Engineering Design Process outlined below to imagine, prototype, and share a MakeyMakey controller for an individual who has suffered a spinal cord injury resulting in tetraplegia. The individual does have movement of her head, neck, and shoulders.
Engineering Design Process:
Step 1: Imagine
- Reflect on the above challenge and make a clear sketch of your idea on a piece of paper. You might find this video and this video helpful in imagining your solution.
Step 2: Prototype
- Using your drawing as a reference, build your MakeyMakey controller for your individual with tetraplegia. Your device should be able to fit onto the back of a chair. Revise as needed.
Step 3: Share
- Upload a video of your MakeyMakey controller for an individual with tetraplegia successfully operating. Type your first name in the “Subject” area.
