Day 3: Navigation Mastery & Audio Alerts

Local Career Spotlight: Heavy Equipment Operators & Safety Technicians. Every massive crane, forklift, and truck at the port relies on audio warning systems (like backup beepers) to keep workers safe. Technicians install and maintain these audio alerts to prevent accidents in loud environments. Check out Pacific Crane Maintenance.

Instructions (Part I): Continue your Day 2 challenge! Spend the first part of the session perfecting your navigation code. Can you successfully program your Cyber:bot to navigate a full course around a box or a set of cones?

Instructions (Part II): Add audio alerts to your AGV. Navigate to the Introducing the Piezospeaker tutorial. Work with your partner to build the piezospeaker circuit on your breadboard.

Instructions (Part III): Test your circuit by writing a code to make the speaker play a sound. Once it works, combine it with your movement code! Program your robot to beep like a real truck whenever it drives in reverse.
