ROV, Assistive Technology, and 3D Design

Workshop Summary

  • During this workshop you will prototype and revise your own underwater ROV to perform a series of tasks with the ultimate goal of creating a system capable of clearing plastic debris harmful to sea life!  Once your ROV adventures are complete, you will transition to the realm of electronics and computer science where you will design and code your own video game along  with the construction of  a cost affordable adaptive controller so individuals with physical disabilities such as Cerebral Palsy can play your game.  Finally, you will put your engineering skills to the test and learn the intricacies of 3D  design, with the goal of printing a device that serves a functional purpose for an individual in need.
